IGBO, BINI, YORUBA ANCIENT RELATION
YORUBA RELIGION "IFA" WORSHIP IGBO GOD WHOSE NAME IS IGBO AS GOD OF ALL GODS
Yoruba Ifa Mythology says that ‘Igbo’ is the name of God. Accordingly, the Yoruba name for ‘Almighty God is’ Igbo Olodumare. By Ifa definition and mythology, Igbo defines the concept of the ‘All Might’ and ‘All Power of God’ – the Creator.
The greatest of the sixteen sons and daughters of God who came to re-deem earth from the Evil One, according to Ifa mythology, is a god called Obatala who the Yoruba worship as the ancestor of the Igbos and the greatest of all the Sons of God who have incarnated on earth. They call him ‘The Ancient of days’ Vice Gerent of the Omnipotent, Mediator between the Almighty and Man. Ifa says he died and resurrected after sixteen days in the grave.
And his praise-song says, “Death has no power over Obatala”. His title is Obatala Osere Igbo – a title, which according to Ifa, strikes immense fear and awe whenever and wherever it is mentioned, reason being that Igbo is the name of the Almighty in his capacity as the God who dealt an unforgettable defeat upon the forces of evil in the most devastating war ever fought on earth between good and evil.
Ifa calls that war “the Great Igbo Battle”. This war, needless to say, was the same great battle between good and evil referred to in other great mythologies around the world, not the least of which is the Hebrew Bible
Prof. Acholonu was once surprised as I am sure it will surprise you and others when she first visited the Yoruba Center in Havana, Cuba, and what she saw, heard and closely recorded as a researcher
“I saw among the Yoruba pantheon of gods at the center, the statue of a god named Obatala whose inscription/explanation read: Father of the Igbo nation, Master of all divinities, Creator of man in various forms, Gentle Lord of the Pure White”! Continuing, Acholonu said that “this was a great puzzle to her”; that the Father of the Igbo nation was revered among the Yoruba not just as a god, but that he was seen as the master and head of all known Yoruba divinities and as The Creator of Man. Acholonu confirmed in the treatise that the Yoruba Center was set up under the guidance and approval of Prof. Wande Ambimbola, (Yoruba Center in Havana, Cuba) the well known Yoruba authority on Ifa.”

The words of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi concerning the the Igbo race
WITHOUT THE IGBO ROYAL FAMILY OF ILE IFE, NO OONI OF IFE CAN BE CROWNED A KING. THE IGBO CLAN IN ILE IFE ARE THE CUSTODIAN OF YORUBA CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi who said that Igbos are the first human race created by God on earth also said the Igbos took Ife into captivity”. A Reporter, who seemed not clear with that statement asked: “Kabiyesi, is it Ugbo or the Igbos?” to which the Ooni replied, “It is the Igbos; here the real Igbos have a compound in Ife, the Oluyeri compound in Iremo, where the Igbo language is spoken. They are from Ife and you can trace many of them from Ife to Benin to Igbo land
He also stated that the most revered inner portion of the palace of the Ooni where his initiation rites to the throne must be done is called ‘Ile Igbo’.
When Oduduwa came to Igbomokun ( Igbo muoku. In eng - Igbo with the light) from south east to south west after the great war with his elder brother Obatala the father of the Igbo, the Igbos were already residing in Ile Ife. It was the Igbo aborigines occupying Ile Ife that welcomed Oduduwa in Ilero, the aboriginal palace of Osangangan Obamakin, which is still in existence in present day Iremo, in Ile Ife.(Iremo is a place you have the the Oluyeri clan where the igbo royal families of Ile Ife ives and stillspeaks igbo language to this day).
“To avoid any mix up, Igbos still have a strong base in Ile-Ife till tomorrow. These include: the aboriginal palace, Ilero, which is adjudged to be the first assembly hall in the history of Yoruba people in Iremo,
The aboriginal palace in Ilero is where the choice of every incoming Ooni is decided by the sons of Osangangan Obamakin through consultation of Ifa and Osanyin. These communities are headed by Obawinrin, Obariyun, Woyeasiri, Owajan, Lowagbafin, Obarena and Obalara (Obalufon). All are Igbo clans
“The Igbo clans in Ile-Ife till date perform vital roles and rites in the administration of Ile-Ife, their functions include among others;
1. Announcing the passage of Ooni
2. cleansing of Ile Ife and other traditional rites of blessings of the land.
3. Every incoming Ooni must be betrothed and symbolically married to Yeyemoolu who was the wife of Osangangan Obamakin. This is essential in order to appease the spirit of Osangangan Obamakin, before the new Ooni can live peacefully in the palace.
4. “The Are crown is received by the Ugbos (igbos) and is worn by Obalufon, one of the sons of Osangangan Obamakin before the new Ooni wears it.
5. It is only the sons of Osangangan Obamakin who can place the Are crown on every incoming Ooni.
6. The emese system, brigade of guard of Ooni was originated by Osangangan Obamakin.
Here are Words of the Ooni of Ile Ife concerning Igbo Race
1. We have to say the truth and the truth must set us all free, Igbo and Yoruba are blood brothers. We should be inseparable. Please feel at home in Yorubaland and respect your Yoruba brothers and sisters too” -Ooni of Ife
2. “We still have House of Igbo right in this palace till date. We call it Ile Igbo up till now. Our ancestors are buried and transfigured there. -Ooni of Ife
3. “The ancient Igbo house is one of the most sacred places in the palace till date. -Ooni of Ife
4. One of my brother kings – Aka Arogundabi from Iremo quarters saw the mysteries of house of Igbo(Aka-ri-Igbo). Till date, Akarigbo of Remoland still sees house of Igbo as a common heritage of his forebears. Ooni explained. -Ooni of Ife
5. asking Olugbo of Ugbo in Ondo state, Oba Fredrick Akinrutan Obateru to visit the Ile Oodua in Ile-Ife for proofs and evidences on the Igbo/Yoruba ties and also various tribes of Igbo ancestory in Ife. -Ooni of Ife
6. “We have a lot of discoveries that the Igbo and Yoruba people once lived together as one family and this will be revealed to the public. We should look at things that connect us together not those that separate us” -Ooni of Ife
7. “We are all the same. We have about 4 set of sub ethnic Igbos in Yoruba land when we were all together -Ooni of Ife
8. “The Ifa corpus that brought our ancestors from Heaven were and still are Ogbe Meji, Ogbe Ofun and Ofun Meji. While Oduduwa clan had Ogbe meji, the Oranfe(Sango) and Obatala clans had Ogbe Ofun and Ofun Meji respectively. -Ooni of Ife
9. They say one Igbo is different from the other, it is true we have about 4 categories of Igbos we have Igbo Ile, Igbo Oko the Iwinrin sub ethnic clan and Ado na Udu. All make up to the unified Igbo clan” in Ile Ife. -Ooni of Ife
10. “There were different clans of Igbos that left from Ife to establish their kingdoms. One of them rebelled back and started coming to cause mayhem in Ife(where they originally came from) and that is the Olugbo kingdom. We should all come together and forget what happened in the past”. -Ooni of Ife
11. “I mentioned that the Igbos started the spirit of profitability, “Aje” in Ife at Igbomekun market(known as Oja Ife too). I implore you to tell the entire Ndigbo that You did not come from Jew, the Jews came from you and that is the truth. -Ooni of Ife

CHUKWU/OLODUMARE/ELE: THE IGBO GOD WHO SANK ATLANTIS
According to Euba’s reading of Ifa, the Almighty Olodumare was the God who fought the great cosmic war between Good and Evil, a war which Ifa calls “the Great Igbo Battle”, as a result of which the word Igbo became an awe-inspiring word which strikes fear and trepidation whenever it is spoken. This God is the same entity whom Thoth claims in The Emerald Tablet was the Great God who sank Atlantis for their sins against humanity. Thoth was a servant of this God. And it was this God that commanded Thoth to leave Atlantis and go and take refuge in the land of Khem in order to escape being drowned by the Deluge.
The Igbo call this God Chukwu. Thoth says in The Emerald Tablet that this God lives under the earth in a place called Amenti or the Duat. Thus Thoth’s claim in The Emerald Tablet that while in the Land of Khem he (Thoth) “blasted then a path to Amenti” can be understood as a reference to the Long Juju of Arochukwu – a cave route to the underground residence of the god whom the Aro call Ukpabi or Chukwu (Almighty God). They call this underground residence Ubini Ukpabi, which translates as ‘Tomb Palace of God’ - (Obi ini Ukpabi) – an underground route which was instrumental in the advancement of the Slave racket when it was latter abused by the Aro priests.
Information revealed by Euba, indicates that Ifa agrees with the Hindu epics to the effect that ‘the great cosmic war’ was the same war fought between Rama and the Atlanteans over the ownership of the city in the jungle. This battle involved the Igbo cave-men, with ‘God Almighty’ fighting on the side of Rama and the Igbo cave men. Ramayana and Mahabharata provide evidence that the leader of the cave men was a god most powerful, who was literate and wrote verses on stone (the monoliths), and that the battle involved the use of nuclear weapons by Atlanteans, which ultimately decimated a number of cities in West Africa, but also Atlantis, bringing about a mass migration from Africa to other continents.
The land-marks by which this forest city of Rama was known, were the same characteristics by which the ancient Egyptian city of Heliopolis (City of the Sun) and Ifa Holy City of Ife, were known. Igbo Ukwu shared the exact same attributes with Ifa Holy City ‘Old Ife’, and Benin Holy City ‘Uhe’. Heliopolis of Egypt was also called Yebu i.e. Igbo – the original name of Igbo Ukwu, as well as Abydos. All were jungle cities. All were built on a plateau. All were referred to as the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’. All were build by a god, raised from a flooded area and called ‘City of Light’.

Many ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria have Igbo origins - Dr. Abdul Salau
This work was presented in part at the 2008 Igbo Studies Association Conference at Howard University, Washington DC, USA. It received very excited reactions from the audience of Igbo and non-Igbo scholars who participated in the conference, many of who signed up for copies. I think I need to mention that in the course of my presentation at the Igbo Studies Association Conference at Howard University, one Dr. Abdul Salau, a northern Nigerian and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Political Science and Philosophy, Delaware State University, USA, presented a paper detailing Igbo linguistic connections with Egypt and specifically stating, to everyone’s surprise, that many ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria have Igbo origins, and that the Kwa/Ka element in such place names as Kaduna, Kwara, etc. have very ancient Mega Igbo links. Someone in the discussion group also mentioned that the cult language used by Igbo initiates of traditional masquerades is understood all over Nigeria by cult members of other ethnic groups. This is an interesting subject of research.
Igbo are direct descendants of the oldest sojourners on the planet
In 2008 an African American woman, an avid researcher who travels all over Africa seeking answers to the unknown, who against all my promptings refused to have her name mentioned in this book, but who insisted that I should write this book detailing the fact that the Igbo were the earliest humans to inhabit the planet. She had seen my work The Gram Code on the Internet and came to Nigeria to look for me – “to drink from the mouth of the master” as she called it. In the end it was I who drank form her mouth instead. We held several sessions of late night discussions about Africa’s Prehistoric past, comparing notes on each other’s findings and on work so far done in the field. She was convinced that the Igbo are direct descendants of the oldest sojourners on the planet, the ‘Sons of the Earth’, the autochthons, the so called Bushmen who have been here longer than every one else and who taught the rest of the world every thing they know. She referred me to a number of other African American researchers who have touched on this phenomenon, but who do not have the opportunity I have to bring up materials from the homeland to support their theses. In fact we actually argued about this because the idea sounded too far-fetched to me! Imagine that! She told me the Igbo were here before the north-south Hamite migrants, the Kwa, came into the land and that Yoruba mythology, Benin mythology and others confirm this. I remembered several issues I has encountered in my research that pointed in this direction, including the fact that when I visited the Yoruba Center in Havana, Cuba I saw among the Yoruba pantheon of gods at the center, the statue of a god named Obatala whose inscription/explanation said: “Father of the Igbo nation, Master of all divinities, Creator of man in various forms, Gentle Lord of the Pure White”! This was a great puzzle to me – that the Father of the Igbo nation was revered not just as a great god among the Yoruba, but that he was seen as the master and head of all known Yoruba divinities and as THE CREATOR OF MAN??? This was the explanation I got from the head of the center who also informed me that the center was set up under the guidance and approval of Prof. Wande Abimbola, well known authority on Ifa.
